Mentorship and Work Placement Program

m&wp_thumbnail

The purpose of the work placement program is to help African students acquire quality work experience while still at university/college. The acquired quality work experience will then be used to easily get professional jobs upon graduation. Graduates will also be eligible to participate and this will help our community in solving the ever growing problem of too many graduates working unprofessional jobs simply because they don’t have work experience to get a professional job straight from university/college.

The program philosophy is summarised on Knowledge without practice is useless. Practice without knowledge is dangerous.

Program Flow: To begin with, all participating Students and Graduates must be paid up members at all times. The Association has a list of companies with available positions for qualifying candidates in various profession. Considering the participating company informs us on terms and conditions under which they can host candidates under this program, African Professionals of Australia will arrange work experience and under these terms and conditions.

We will serve and protect the interest of the candidate(s) with regards to the quality of work experience and flexibility of the program as per student’s University/College commitment per semester.

Our focus is encourage and promote quality work experience or employable skills and not salary, thus it will be up to the employer to pay the candidate or not if they wish.
